Our Journey Has Begun

Yes, it's true. We left home yesterday, so officially we can say that our trip has started, although we are warm and comfortable at Michelle's family in Calgary. For those of you that are from Alberta, you have a pretty good idea of how bad the blizzard was.
Our neighbor Russel Fisher was so kind to plow the road out from the highway to our door, so at about noon we headed out. We had basically zero traction on the roads until about Ponoka, after Red Deer we had poor to sometimes zero visibility. I was at least greatful that there was good traction after Red Deer, at times we had to hit the brakes because we literally could not see the end of the hood. We had our hazzard lights on all the way from Red Deer south, and miraculously the highway was not closed.
Tomorrow we fly to Chicago for four days of pre-training.

We missed saying goodbye and giving you our well wishes so... Most of all we want to send you our love and support. We pray that God will surround you each step of the way and that His presence will be seen and felt by all those around you. Hope the next couple of days may give you what you stand in need of most...strength, courage, compassion, and Gods peace. You will be in our thoughts and prayers in the days to come. Randy & Carla
