miracles upon miracles

Now that my story is finished, I'd like to record some amazing experiences , miracles, and silver linings. They will be in no particular order.
1. When we flew from Calgary to Toronto, and had to get through American security to get to Miami, our immigration officer was Haitian. Immigration was no problem. Security was three hours, however.
2. Our new friend, Janelle, also flew from Calgary to Toronto . She had a grand total of 40 minutes to get through security, and she made it!!!! She says God actually stopped the clock for a long while, until she got through.
3. Our flight was delayed until 1pm, instead of 6am. We got some much needed sleep. At 6am we regrouped, and started getting our 12,000 lbs to the plane.
4. The day of our evacuation of 83 American kids to their plane, one of the American kids had a seizure. Some from our group drove her to a make-shift military hospital, where doctors were able to examine her, stabilize her , and then she still made the plane!!!
5. While at that hospital, one of our new nurse friends here, Nicole, realized that Haiti was out of pain meds, anaesthetic, and various other shortages in all the make-shift hospitals. She came back here, contacted some doctors back at her hometown, and 48 hours later, there is a chartered flight coming out to Haiti TODAY with over 35,000 lbs of the non-existant stuff. In just a few hours it will be arriving with doctors on board, and all product will be delivered to 4 different hospitals. Volunteers rallied on the U.S. side of things, and there will be volunteers delivering the goods via convoy to the sites. Who ever said that one person cannot make a difference?
6. By now you've all probably heard about the Montana Hotel. It was the nicest hotel in PAP, by far, but was pancaked in the quake. On day 8? or 9? after the quake, the owner, a woman , was rescued alive from the rubble. She was found in a standing position , wedged between two walls that formed a "teepee" around her.
7. A year ago, almost to the day, she had been kidnapped and held captive for 15 days!! Now that's a tough woman!!

Are you back in Canada now or are you still in Haiti?
You have experienced God's grace in so many ways. Praise the Lord for all the things that are falling into place. How people cannot see God's hand in all this, is beyond me.
Prayers for continued safety.

I heard abbout that Montana Hotel. One of our politicians just arrived there and was killed as the quake hit. One person does and can make a difference...and many more made sure of it! You guys are not alone either and you have already mad such a difference as well!! God puts it all together when the needs were the greatest!Love you all, Cal B.

Praise God for miracles!!! That's what He does and sometimes they are hard to see amidst the chaos I'm sure...

This morning at our church we had Bill Blaney speaking, CEO of GAIN (global Aid Network ~ Christian worldwide organization. He had been in Haiti since Jan 14 and just got home last night. I don't think there was a dry eye in the building after his short account. From hearing his stories and reading your daily updates, just made it all so real and surreal at the same time ... CNN or any other network really doesn't show the reality unless you have been there and for that I just cannot imagine at all!
God bless you all for showing the compassion of Christ to these people at this time!!!
