I'm not really sure you even want to hear about my day so far today. I suppose it makes a better story to hear about than it was to live, though. So I got the "opportunity" to go into Port-Au-Prince today with 6 kids for their psych evaluations (all the kids get them for the adoption process). Sounds like a great adventure, right? I thought so, too. So we gathered our 6 kids, got them all dressed up and shoes on and piled in a vehicle with 5 adults and 6 kids (it's a 5-seater vehicle) and off we went. Fun! Yep. Until halfway there, one of the kids on my lap got severely carsick all over the backseat. And we were in a traffic jam so it took about an hour and a half to get there. So we cleaned up as best as we could, trying to suck in some fresh air through the now-open windows, and about 15 minutes later she got sick again. Who knew a 2-year-old had such a large stomach capacity?? It was everywhere! We finally got there, and sat in a hot, humid waiting room while each kid went in one at a time. We had extra clothes for them, but not for us. Then we had to drive back again, sitting in the wet vomit puddle on the seat, feeling it soak through pants, then underwear. I have never smelled so bad before in my life! So, life in Haiti is not always cute babies and fantastic scenery. We made it back with no further incidents, and after a change, a scrub and a bath in hand sanitizer, I almost feel clean again! Hopefully this afternoon goes a little smoother!! Here's a couple pictues of our adventure (no worries, no puke pics!!)

Wow, Michelle. It's been quite the adventure. I bet it feels like it's gone by super fast so far.
Take care!
Michelle, kind of ironic that Garner had just explained about BO . That PEEEEUKY mess in hot weather would also qualify as Bad Odor. It did not sound like the most enjoyable trip. I'll bet all the kids failed the test after Garner frightening the daylights out of them!!! Perhaps she had never driven in a vehicle before , so it is understandable that she got car sick!!! Garner don't you wish you had learned Dutch now hey?
Enjoy the rest of your stay . Dad H
