Thanks for all the comments, everyone!

We always look forward to reading the comments, so thank you.
Phillipians 3:14 . That was on several tap-taps- and yeah- it's true, especially for driving.
Last evening a missionary couple came over to GLA and we had a bible study. I guess it's every Wed eve and sundays. We sang songs for a while, and you'd never guess who was chosen to lead. We went to bed a bit later than usual, and I suppose since the weather was so nice, we started hearing drumming at about 10pm. But we knew what it was. Then the chanting, singing, wailing began. At times it almost sounded a bit like a pack of coyotes singing.
It was a voudu healing ritual. And it gets quite loud, sometimes. Theres a witchdoctor that lives just down the hill from here, and they go to him when someone needs healing. You can't be a witchdoctor without being a cannibal, they say. So they wail and chant and sing and cry out to their "god",(we all know who that is) . It's so dark. But GLA is a light in this community. That's why they get kids from so very far away. People don't have much money, they know the child will suffer, so they contact people who can help them. GLA has an excellent reputation all across Ayiti. In rural Ayiti the voudu, witchdoctors, and zombie thing is MUCH worse. So now these kids have a good chance. I'll save the rest till we get home, so we don't freak people out too bad.
But really we have our own strange rituals too, don't we.Many North Americans worship their own "gods". In many parts of the world people pray that North Americans won't become too numbed by their own affluence. At Ellerlie Baptist in Edmonton, where Brad and Lois are from, their church's goal is that 50 percent of their adult membership goes on at least one mission trip in their life, and it has been a good thing for them. God has really been blessing those efforts. I think it's a great idea.
Because He lives I can faces tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
